Your new company
Are you an experienced building inspector, asset assessor, or maintenance professional looking for your next contract opportunity? We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Condition Assessor to join a Queensland Government department on a temporary contract through to March 2027.Based in either Rockhampton or Mackay, this role offers the opportunity to travel throughout Central Queensland, conducting inspections across a diverse portfolio of government-owned facilities and assets.
Your new role
As a Condition Assessor, you will be responsible for conducting on-site inspections and assessing the condition of government buildings and associated infrastructure. Your findings will support maintenance planning, asset management, and investment decisions across the region.Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting condition assessments and site inspections of government buildings and associated assets
  • Identifying defects, deterioration, maintenance requirements, and potential safety or operational risks
  • Preparing detailed condition assessment reports and supporting documentation
  • Maintaining accurate inspection and asset records
  • Providing technical recommendations to support maintenance prioritisation and planning activities
  • Working independently across multiple sites while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and processes

What you'll need to succeed

  • To be successful in this role, you will possess:
  • A current Queensland C Class Driver Licence
  • Experience in building inspections, maintenance assessments, asset condition auditing, or a similar field
  • Strong observational and reporting skills with the ability to identify maintenance and building-related issues
  • Experience preparing technical reports and maintaining accurate records
  • The ability to travel extensively throughout Central Queensland
  • Highly desirable:
  • Trade qualification, technical qualification, or building-related certification
  • Experience within government, social infrastructure, facilities management, property maintenance, or asset management environments
  • Knowledge of building maintenance practices and asset life cycle management principles

Travel requirements:

  • This role involves frequent travel throughout the Central Queensland region to undertake inspections and assessments. Candidates must be comfortable with:
  • Regular regional travel
  • Overnight stays away from home
  • Potential periods of travel from Monday to Friday, and occasionally on weekends, depending on operational requirements
