Skillforce Recruitment are currently seeking a 2nd Class Welder that has experience working with Aluminium doing Mig and Tig Welding
This role is a Temp to Perm Role so has the opportunity for Full Time Employment .
Key Responsibilities
- Aluminum Welding: Perform high-quality MIG and TIG welding on various aluminum grades and thin-to-medium gauges used in glazing and window framing systems.
- Reading Drawings: Interpret fabrication blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications to layout and assemble parts.
- Component Preparation: Cut, grind, deburr, and fit aluminum sections using saws, drills, and standard workshop machinery.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished assemblies for accuracy, strength, and visual standard, ensuring clean welds free of defects.
- Safety Compliance: Follow workshop safety rules, wear protective equipment (PPE), and safely operate power tools and lifting equipment.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on MIG and TIG welding experience, specifically with aluminum.
- Trade Skills: Competence in setting up welding machines, selecting proper filler wires, and adjusting shielding gas (100% argon) flow rates.
- Industry Background: Familiarity with architectural aluminum, balustrades, window/door framing, or general metal fabrication.
- Status: 2nd-class classification typically means practical competency and independence on standard tasks, though still working under senior supervision or leading hand guidance.
- Must be able to pass a pre employment medical
- Must have full working rights to work in Australia
