Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
- Inspect, dismantle and reassemble aircraft structures.
- Support maintenance activities on metal and composite aircraft structures.
- Assist with the removal and installation of aircraft components.
Inspects, dismantles and reassembles aircraft structures, and repairs and replaces
components of aircraft frames. Works with both metal and carbon fibre composite
materials
Support aircraft structural maintenance activities on metal and composite aircraft
structures and components within a CASA-regulated MRO environment.
Assist with the removal and installation of aircraft structural and non-pressurised components,
including LH and RH engine cowlings, in accordance with approved maintenance procedures
and under the supervision of Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (LAMEs).
Assist with aircraft structural and wing maintenance and repair activities, including preparing
structural components and affected areas for inspection, repair and approved maintenance
procedures.
Support the identification, treatment and prevention of corrosion on aircraft structures and
components using approved processes, materials and maintenance procedures.
Carry out aircraft surface preparation and refinishing activities, including cleaning,
degreasing, sanding, stripping and masking of metal and composite aircraft surfaces.
Apply approved primers, polyurethane topcoats and protective coatings to aircraft surfaces
and components using HVLP spray equipment in accordance with approved processes and
workplace procedures.
