About Our Client
An opportunity is available for an experienced Finance Officer to join a respected Queensland Government organisation in Brisbane CBD.
Working within a close-knit finance team, this role offers a mix of financial reporting, reconciliations, analysis and operational finance support. While there is some transactional activity, this is not a high-volume AP role. We're looking for someone who enjoys investigating variances, understanding financial trends and contributing to sound financial decision-making.
Job Description
- Prepare and review financial reconciliations
- Support month-end and reporting activities
- Analyse financial data and investigate variances
- Assist with financial management of electoral and other business events
- Process supplier requisitions and provide limited AP support
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding financial matters
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and financial controls
The Successful Applicant
- Experience in a finance, accounting or financial reporting position
- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
- Ability to identify issues, investigate anomalies and challenge unexpected results
- Experience using SAP ECC6 or S/4HANA will be highly regarded
- Previous Queensland Government or broader public sector experience is desirable
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, team-based environment
