An opportunity is available for an experienced Procurement and Contracts Officer to join a Queensland Government organisation. This role will support a range of procurement and contract management activities, with a strong focus on the procurement of learning and development services.
This position is ideal for a procurement professional with Queensland Government experience who enjoys providing advice and building stakeholder relationships.
Your new role
As the Procurement and Contracts Officer, you will:
- Provide procurement advice and support across procurement planning, sourcing, evaluation and contract management activities.
- Assist with the development and release of procurement documentation, including RFQs and related procurement documentation.
- Support contract negotiation, establishment, administration and ongoing management activities.
- Advise stakeholders on Queensland Government procurement policies, procedures and internal procurement processes.
- Assist business areas with developing specifications and selecting appropriate procurement strategies to achieve value for money outcomes.
- Prepare briefing notes, evaluation plans and procurement documentation for senior leadership approval.
- Manage purchase requisitions, vendor creation requests and extensions through SAP.
- Liaise with Queensland Shared Services (QSS) to resolve purchase order and vendor-related issues.
- Support day-to-day procurement enquiries from finance, budgeting and business stakeholders.
- Assist with management of the central procurement inbox, records management and document administration activities.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Experience working within a Queensland Government procurement environment.
- Sound knowledge of the Queensland Procurement Policy and associated procurement frameworks.
- Experience undertaking operational procurement activities for goods and services.
- Strong experience preparing procurement documentation, including requests for quotation, tenders and contracts.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience using SAP financial systems.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality outcomes.
