Role Opportunity
Working as a member of the Tendering team, the Engineer converts client enquiries and tender documents into clear, fit-for-purpose equipment solutions and coordinated tender submissions. The role applies Engineering judgement at the front end of projects, defines the technical basis of offer, identifies risk and opportunity, supports estimating and scheduling, and communicates the proposed solution to clients and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Proven experience in tendering, estimating, project engineering, equipment supply, manufacturing, mining or mineral processing environments.
- Experience within bulk materials handling and heavy industrial engineering environments preferred
- Strong ability to interpret technical specifications, scopes of work, standards, calculations, process information and engineering drawings to develop practical solutions.
- Sound understanding of mechanical equipment, materials selection, fabrication methods and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent technical writing and documentation skills, with the ability to prepare clear, accurate and commercially focused tender submissions.
- Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of cost drivers, margins, schedules, contractual risk and scope management.
- Ability to identify, evaluate and communicate technical, commercial, quality and delivery risks, and develop practical mitigation strategies.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tenders, competing priorities and strict submission deadlines.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with experience using PDF mark-up, scheduling and project planning tools.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Review RFQs, specifications, drawings and client requirements to establish tender scope and deliverables.
- Develop tender-stage mechanical solutions including equipment selection, layouts and design methodologies.
- Prepare technical submissions, datasheets, compliance schedules, clarifications and supporting documentation.
- Evaluate supplier, subcontractor and fabrication quotations to ensure scope alignment and competitiveness.
- Support estimating activities through quantity take-offs, equipment inputs, labour allowances and delivery assumptions.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, client specifications, safety requirements and regulatory obligations.
- Identify technical, commercial and delivery risks and contribute to value-engineering opportunities.
- Liaise with clients, EPC/EPCM contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders throughout the tender process.
- Manage multiple tender activities, document control requirements and submission deadlines.
- Support post-tender clarifications, contract handovers and continuous improvement of tendering processes.
