Building Asset Inspector / Condition Assessor | Mackay

Hays Construction North Queensland is proud to be partnering with a specialist organisation delivering building and asset condition assessments across a range of facilities and infrastructure assets in the Mackay region. We are currently seeking a practical and self-motivated Building Asset Inspector to join the team on a short-term contract for approximately two months.
Your new role
In this autonomous field-based position, you will travel between sites throughout the Mackay region, conducting detailed inspections of buildings, structures and associated infrastructure assets.Your responsibilities will include:

• Inspecting buildings and facilities to assess their current condition.
• Identifying maintenance, structural and asset-related issues.
• Recording asset information and inspection findings electronically using an iPad.
• Preparing detailed condition assessment reports.
• Capturing accurate data and photographs during site visits.
• Working independently to manage inspections, reporting and scheduling requirements.
• Providing valuable information to support future maintenance and asset management decisions.

This role will suit someone who enjoys being out on site, has strong practical building knowledge and can confidently assess the condition of a wide variety of assets.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience within building, construction, engineering, facilities management, asset management or a related industry.
• Strong knowledge of building components, structures and maintenance requirements.
• Experience conducting inspections, audits or condition assessments.
• The ability to identify defects, maintenance requirements and asset condition issues.
• Confidence working independently with minimal supervision.
• Good computer skills and the ability to accurately capture information electronically.
• Strong attention to detail and report-writing abilities.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• Physical ability to undertake regular site inspections, including significant walking across facilities and building assets.
