We are seeking experienced Assistant in Nursing (AIN) professionals to join the healthcare team at Wolston Correctional Centre and SQCC on a casual basis.
This is a great opportunity for experienced AINs looking to work in a unique healthcare environment.
About Client.
Located in Wacol, Brisbane, Wolston Correctional Centre is a high-security correctional facility accommodating male protection prisoners. The centre provides a structured environment with a focus on rehabilitation, education, employment and support programs. Working as an AIN at Wolston Correctional Centre offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a specialised healthcare environment, working alongside healthcare and correctional professionals to support the health and well being of people in custody
About the Role
Working as an AIN within a correctional healthcare setting, you will provide quality care and support to patients while working alongside a professional multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Wacol Correctional Centre (WCS)
8:00 AM 12:00 PM
4-hour shifts
Flexible casual shifts to work around your existing commitments.
Southern Queensland Correctional Centre (SQCC) Spring Creek
6:00 AM 2:00 PM
2:00 PM 10:00 PM
10:00 PM 6:00 AM
8-hour shifts
Paid travel allowance provided
Daily travel is required; accommodation is not provided.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing compassionate and respectful patient care
- Supporting patients with personal care and daily living needs
- Monitoring and reporting changes in patient well being
- Assisting nursing and healthcare staff with day-to-day patient care
- Maintaining accurate documentation
- Following infection control, safety and clinical procedures
- Promoting patient dignity, privacy and well being
About You
To be successful, you will have:
Experience as an AIN or Aged Care Worker
Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care or equivalent, OR be studying a Bachelor of Nursing
Current CPR
Current National Police Clearance
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A professional, calm and respectful approach
Ability to work effectively within a structured healthcare environment
Commitment to patient safety, dignity and confidentiality
