Assistant Store Manager Rutherford Sunday–Thursday Roster
Ready to step up in retail leadership — or looking for an Assistant Manager role where you can actually make an impact?
We’re recruiting for an established retailer in Rutherford looking for a confident, commercially minded Assistant Store Manager to join their team.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining sales, people leadership, customer experience and store operations. You’ll work closely with the Store Manager to drive results, develop the team and create a store customers want to return to.
What you'll be doing: You’ll be involved across the whole store, including:
- Driving sales, KPIs, and overall store performance
- Leading from the floor and creating a strong sales culture
- Coaching and motivating the team to achieve individual and store targets
- Building rapport with customers and helping them find the right solutions for their needs
- Supporting the Store Manager with daily operations, rostering and administration
- Assisting with recruitment, onboarding and development of team members
- Identifying opportunities to improve sales and customer experience
- Keeping the store commercially focused, organised and ready to trade
This is a big-ticket, solution-based sales environment, so confidence in building relationships, asking the right questions and closing sales will be highly valued.
What we're looking for: You could already be an Assistant Store Manager, or you might be an experienced retail sales professional or supervisor ready for your next step.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- 2+ years' experience in retail sales, leadership, or supervision
- A proven ability to achieve sales targets and KPIs
- Confidence coaching and motivating others
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Commercial awareness and a results-focused approach
- The ability to juggle customers, team priorities and operational tasks
- A practical, hands-on attitude and willingness to get involved
- An interest in furniture, interiors, lifestyle products or big-ticket retail would be an advantage — but isn't essential
Experience in managing end-to-end sales is a plus; having a true passion for sales is key.
As this is a physical retail environment, some manual handling forms part of the role, including safely lifting, carrying and moving products.
What's in it for you?
- Sunday–Thursday roster
- Supportive Store Manager and team environment
- Generous product discounts
- Employee wellbeing initiatives
- Ongoing training and career development
- Opportunity to build your leadership experience with an established retailer
- A role where your sales ability and people leadership can genuinely influence store results
Interested? If you're a strong retailer who enjoys people, sales and getting results, we'd love to hear from you.
