Sebring Mechanical is a growing general mechanical workshop looking for an experienced Automotive Technician / Motor Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis.
We work on a wide range of light vehicles, 4x4s and commercial vehicles, carrying out general servicing, diagnostics, repairs and major mechanical work.
the role
The successful applicant will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing and repairing a wide range of vehicles, including modern electronically controlled vehicles and 4x4s.
Duties will include:
- General servicing and maintenance
- Logbook servicing
- Vehicle inspections and mechanical assessments
- Computer diagnostics and fault finding
- Engine repairs and component replacement
- Timing belt and timing chain replacement
- Brake, steering and suspension repairs
- Clutch and transmission repairs
- Cooling system repairs
- Fuel and diesel system repairs
- Electrical and electronic fault diagnosis
- 4x4 servicing and repairs
- Air conditioning diagnosis and repairs where qualified
- Pre-purchase and mechanical inspections
- Road testing and verification of repairs
- Accurate completion of job cards and repair documentation
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop
skills and experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Relevant automotive trade qualification, such as Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, or equivalent recognised trade qualification
- Minimum 3 years' relevant post-trade experience preferred
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical fault-finding skills
- Experience working on modern light vehicles
- Experience with 4x4 vehicles highly regarded
- Ability to use automotive scan tools and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to carry out mechanical repairs independently
- Good understanding of vehicle systems and repair procedures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Current Australian driver's licence or ability to obtain one
- A professional attitude and good communication skills
