Bid Planning & Scheduling Manager - NV1/NV2

An opportunity is available for an experienced Project Manager / Scheduler to join a leading global technology consulting firm, supporting strategic Defence, Federal Government and National Security pursuits.

Working within the Sales and Pursuit team, you will collaborate with Capture Managers, Bid Managers, Solution Architects, Delivery Executives, workforce teams and technology partners to develop integrated bid schedules, implementation and transition plans, and delivery roadmaps. You will also develop workforce mobilisation and resource plans covering demand, skills, security clearances, recruitment, partner resources and staffing ramp-up profiles.

You will analyse milestones, dependencies, risks, assumptions, resource requirements and critical paths; facilitate planning workshops; and support proposal responses, governance reviews and customer presentations across multiple concurrent pursuits.

This role will suit an experienced Project Manager, Master Scheduler or Bid Planning professional who can translate complex customer and contractual requirements into realistic, cost-effective and defensible delivery and workforce plans.

  • Location: Canberra ACT
  • Contract Duration: Initial 12 months with view to extend
  • Clearence Required: Negative Vetting (NV1 OR NV2) mandatory

About You

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Experience supporting bids, tenders, proposals, capture activities or pre-sales solution development.
  • Strong experience across project management, program scheduling, implementation planning or PMO functions.
  • Demonstrated experience developing integrated schedules and implementation plans for large ICT, Defence or government programs.
  • Strong knowledge of project scheduling methodologies, critical-path analysis and dependency management.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 or an equivalent scheduling platform.
  • Experience developing workforce mobilisation, resource-demand and staffing ramp-up plans.
  • Strong risk, issue, assumption, constraint and dependency management capability.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to contribute to high-quality proposal documentation.
  • The confidence to challenge unrealistic delivery dates, workforce assumptions and transition expectations.

Highly Desirable

  • Experience supporting Defence, the National Intelligence Community or Australian Federal Government clients.
  • Experience within a technology consultancy, systems integrator or managed-services environment.
  • Experience across cloud transformation, cyber security, systems integration or complex ICT programs.
  • Understanding of Commonwealth procurement and tender processes.
  • Experience planning transition-in, service commencement and transition-out activities.
  • Familiarity with security-cleared workforce planning, including NV1, NV2 and TSPV resource requirements.

What's on Offer

  • Join an established global technology consulting organisation.
  • Contribute to major strategic Defence and National Security pursuits.
  • Work alongside experienced sales, capture, architecture and delivery leaders.
  • Influence delivery strategies before major programs commence.
  • Support complex, high-profile ICT transformation and managed-services opportunities.

If you have strong bid-planning and scheduling expertise and enjoy shaping how complex ICT programs will be mobilised and delivered, please apply with an updated CV outlining your relevant scheduling, transition, bid and government experience.
