This Business Development Manager role is responsible for converting opportunities into results across the Adelaide region while managing a portfolio of Tier 1 and Tier 2 customers.
This role combines new business development with growing wallet share across existing accounts in the building, construction and hire industries. You'll engage confidently with on-site operational teams while building relationships with senior decision-makers.
About the Role
You will take ownership of a high-growth territory, balancing strategic account development with hands-on commercial execution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and growing a portfolio of Tier 1 and Tier 2 customer accounts
- Growing wallet share through solution-led selling and relationship development
- Building trusted relationships across all stakeholder levels, from site teams to C-suite
- Delivering senior stakeholder and boardroom-level presentations on capability and solutions
- Developing and executing customer-specific growth plans aligned to sales strategy
- Managing a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities
- Partnering with internal operational teams to ensure customer commitments are delivered
- Maintaining strong CRM discipline and account planning
- Travel may be required
About You
You are an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong commercial track record in the building, construction or hire industry.
You bring:
- Proven evidence of winning commercial sales and generating repeat business within the past three years
- Strong experience working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 customers, understanding how decisions are made at both executive and site level
- Clear knowledge of the construction and infrastructure sectors driving sustained growth in the region
- Confidence engaging with C-suite and senior decision-makers, while remaining effective with on-site operational teams
- A solid understanding of territory and key account planning, with the discipline to focus on high-value opportunities
- The ability to build effective internal partnerships with branch teams, major projects and leadership stakeholders to deliver customer outcomes
- Working knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM systems, with strong pipeline and activity management
- Competence across the Microsoft Office suite; experience with Baseplan is highly regarded
