We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Cabinetmaker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, modifying and finishing timber and wood-based components used in custom event installations, production sets, displays, furniture and other temporary structures and fit-outs. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Sydney, NSW.
Main tasks
- Review drawings, plans, specifications, measurements and work instructions to determine fabrication requirements.
- Measure, mark, cut and shape timber and sheet materials to required dimensions using appropriate hand and power tools.
- Fabricate and assemble timber and wood-based components for event installations, production sets, displays, counters, furniture, shelving and other custom-built items.
- Inspect completed work and make adjustments where necessary to ensure components meet required dimensions, specifications and quality standards.
- Safely load, unload, move and position timber, fabricated components, tools and equipment in accordance with manual handling and site procedures.
- Perform other relevant fabrication and cabinetmaking duties associated with All Ranks' event, production and construction projects.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate III in a relevant trade occupation; and
- At least 1 year of relevant full-time work experience in the industry within the past 5 years.
Skills and Attributes
- Ability to accurately interpret drawings, plans, measurements and specifications.
- Competent use of hand tools, power tools and woodworking equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
- Ability to work accurately to specified dimensions and project requirements.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Annual salary will be between $100,000.00 to $110,000.00 (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience.
