Quality Homes For Removal Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and skilled Carpenter to join our team in Minden, Queensland.
Our business specialises in working with relocatable and removable homes, including structural carpentry, repairs, renovations, alterations and preparation of residential buildings for relocation and reinstallation.
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Carpenter who can undertake a wide range of carpentry duties while maintaining high standards of workmanship, quality and workplace safety.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Reading and interpreting building plans, drawings and specifications to determine materials, dimensions and construction requirements.
- Measuring, cutting, shaping and assembling timber and other building materials using hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery.
- Constructing, installing, repairing and replacing timber wall frames, floor frames, roof structures, ceiling frames and other structural components.
- Inspecting and assessing existing timber structures in relocatable homes to identify damaged, deteriorated or unsuitable components requiring repairs or replacement.
- Undertaking structural carpentry work associated with preparing residential buildings for relocation, including reinforcing and repairing timber framing where required.
- Installing and repairing timber flooring, wall linings, internal partitions, doors, windows, skirting boards, architraves and other building fixtures.
- Performing carpentry work during the reinstallation, refurbishment and renovation of relocated residential homes.
- Installing and securing timber components using appropriate joints, fasteners, adhesives and construction techniques.
- Ensuring all carpentry work is completed accurately and in accordance with relevant building codes, construction standards and workplace safety requirements.
- Coordinating with other tradespeople and construction team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to the required quality standards.
- Maintaining tools, equipment and a clean, safe working environment.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this position, applicants should possess:
- Certificate III in Carpentry or an equivalent relevant trade qualification.
- Relevant practical experience in residential construction, structural carpentry, building renovations or repairs.
- Strong knowledge of timber framing, flooring systems, roof structures and general residential carpentry techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans and technical specifications.
- Competence in using carpentry hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment.
- Understanding of Australian building standards and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- A valid driver's licence is desirable.
Experience working with relocatable homes, residential renovations or structural timber repairs will be highly regarded.
