Our client is looking for a Carpenter to join their team.

Our client is a construction business operating across Western Australia, including the Pilbara region. The company delivers building projects for its clients and identifies safety as its main focus, with an emphasis on completing work on time and within budget.

Employment Responsibilities

  • Interpreting drawings and specifications to determine formwork and temporary works needs.
  • Installing and positioning vertical and horizontal formwork components, including drilling and fitting hold down bolts and fasteners to walls and floors.
  • Communicating with the Foreman and Supervisors about material needs and ordering materials as required.
  • Assembling formwork panels on site, including fitting metal props, brackets and clamps.
  • Building suspended formwork systems and scaffolding.
  • Removing formwork by physical and mechanical methods.
  • Working at heights up to and above 9m.
  • Nailing fascia panels, sheathing roofs, and fitting exterior wall cladding and door and window frames
  • Cutting wood joints
  • Ordering and selecting timbers and materials, and preparing layouts

Skills, experience and qualifications

  • Certificate III including at least one year of relevant experience, or Certificate IV. At least 3 years of relevant experience may be accepted in place of the formal qualification.
  • Relevant experience may also be required.
  • Registration or licensing may be required for this occupation.

Licenses

  • Construction induction (White Card)
  • Current driver's licence

Desirable

  • Experience with concrete FRP projects
  • Experience with formwork systems i.e Peri, Unispan, or Doka
  • Ability to construct conventional formwork
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings
  • A strong commitment to working safely and productively
  • Dogging, Rigging, Working at heights, and EWP tickets
