• Casual opportunity based at JCU's Cairns Nguma-bada Campus
• Approximately 4-6 hours per week
• Flexible hours to fit around your studies
• Training and support provided

WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLE

As a Collection Assistant, you'll play an important role in maintaining the Library's collections and study spaces, ensuring resources are easy to find and accessible for the JCU community.

• Shelve books and journals accurately and maintain collection order.
• Conduct shelf checks and collection audits to support collection management projects.
• Retrieve, scan and assist with the repair of library materials.
• Support collection relocation and maintenance activities.
• Help maintain a clean, organised and welcoming library environment.
• Identify and report maintenance issues and space constraints.
• Provide basic directional assistance and referrals to library users when required.

WHAT YOU CAN BRING TO THE ROLE

To be successful, you'll have:

• Current enrolment as a JCU student based in Cairns.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• A reliable and proactive approach to work.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
