Category Manager - Food

The Company
Our client is an iconic name in Australian FMCG/retail organisation that is going through significant change and transformation.  With big supply chains, large volumes, and very fast paced environment, this is a really exciting time to join the business. 

The Role
The role works across a large food portfolio, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive value, manage risk, and shape category strategy at scale.

What you'll be doing:
 - Lead end-to-end sourcing strategy across a portfolio of food categories
 - Run supplier negotiations and manage key vendor relationships
 - Develop and execute category plans aligned to business objectives
 - Analyse market trends, cost drivers, and supply risk
 - Partner with internal stakeholders (Ops, Finance, Quality) to align sourcing with business needs
 - Drive continuous improvement and cost-out initiatives across the supply base

What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing / category management within food sourcing
- Ideally experience gained from large corporates 
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen
- Comfortable working at pace in a large, complex organisation
- Available for a contract engagement
