Charter Sales & Events Manager

KEY POINTS WE FOUND
  • Manage the full charter and event lifecycle for Sydney Harbour events.
  • Drive revenue and exceed sales targets across multiple brands.
  • Build long-term client relationships and tailor events to client needs.

SeaLink Marine & Tourism - Sydney Harbour

Some venues have a view. Ours has the whole harbour.

Picture the pitch: a wedding reception gliding past the Opera House at sunset. A corporate gala under lights on the water, the city skyline as the backdrop nobody had to build. A milestone birthday on a vessel nobody forgets. That's not a hypothetical — it's a Tuesday for our Charters team. We're looking for a Charter Sales & Events Manager to sell and deliver exceptional events across our full Sydney Harbour portfolio: Captain Cook Cruises, The Jackson and Starship Group.

About the Role

Across three distinctive brands and a fleet of vessels, you'll be selling something genuinely hard to say no to — Sydney Harbour itself, packaged as the venue. From first enquiry through to post-event follow-up, you'll manage the full charter and event lifecycle: pricing it, pitching it, styling it to the client's occasion, and making sure it lands exactly as promised on the night.

This is a role for someone who gets genuinely excited by a great event brief — who can look at an empty vessel and see the wedding, the gala, the celebration it's about to become. You will price, package and sell each experience, backed by the Head of Charters and Coordinator team to help you deliver it.

What You'll Do

  • Drive revenue across all SeaLink Sydney Harbour brands, meeting and exceeding individual and team sales targets
  • Proactively develop new business while managing and growing existing client accounts
  • Maximise yield on every charter through smart pricing, upselling and packaging
  • Manage assigned events end-to-end — proposals, contracts, run sheets and post-event account management
  • Tailor each event using your knowledge of vessels, operations and guest experience
  • Build long-term client relationships that drive repeat business and referrals
  • Collaborate with the Head of Charters and Coordinators to keep service standards consistent across the team

About You

You're highly organised and comfortable running multiple events at once under pressure, without letting the details — or the magic — slip. You're a confident negotiator who can maximise yield while still delivering real value, and a communicator who can sell the vision as convincingly as you execute it on the day. Experience in tourism, cruise or waterfront hospitality is a bonus, and if you've worked across multiple brands or venue portfolios before, even better. A tertiary qualification in Events, Hospitality, Tourism or Business helps, but isn't essential if the track record speaks for itself.

How to Apply
