Civil Labourer - Survey Assistant

We’re looking for a Survey Assistant to join a civil construction project in Bethania.

You’ll work directly alongside the project’s qualified Surveyor, assisting with the day-to-day surveying and set-out requirements across a busy civil site.

Ideally, you’ll already have some exposure to surveying, whether that's as a Survey Assistant, civil labourer, engineering assistant or through previous experience working around survey equipment and set-out.

You don't need to be a qualified Surveyor. What we're looking for is someone practical, switched on and keen to learn.

The role will include:

• Assisting the Surveyor with general site surveying activities
• Helping with set-out, levels and measurements
• Setting up and moving survey equipment
• Pegging and marking out
• Recording information as required
• Working around civil crews, machinery and pipework
• General labouring and assisting the site crew when surveying work allows
• Learning more of the surveying function as you go

This is very much a hands-on site role. There will be times you're assisting the Surveyor and times you're expected to jump in and help the crew with general labouring.

Ideally you'll have:

• Some previous surveying or civil construction experience
• Exposure to survey equipment, lasers, levels or set-out would be highly regarded
• White Card
• Good communication skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work accurately
• Comfortable working outdoors and doing physical work
• Reliable transport
• A willingness to learn

For someone with some basic survey exposure who wants to build their experience on a substantial civil project, this could be a really good opportunity.
