Claims Consultant - Life Insurance

We’re currently partnering with a leading life insurer who is looking to grow their claims team with talented professionals from a range of backgrounds.
If you’re currently working on Workers Compensation claims, CTP claims or in Allied Health including Nursing, Occupational Rehabilitation, Counselling, Injury Management or Occupational Therapy this could be an excellent opportunity to take your existing skills into the Life Insurance sector.
No previous Life Insurance experience is required – on the job training and support will be provided.

What you’ll be doing;
- Assessing and managing a portfolio of disability claims end to end
- Reviewing claims information, identifying key issues and making well-informed decisions
- Ensuring claims are progressed within agreed service timeframes
- Monitoring your portfolio to identify risks, trends, emerging issues and opportunities for improved outcomes
- Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring all claims activity meets regulatory and governance requirements
- Building strong relationships with customers, advisers, employers and other key stakeholders
- Working collaboratively with rehabilitation, medical, reinsurance and internal specialist teams
- Contributing to positive customer outcomes while balancing commercial and risk considerations
About you:
- A willingness to learn and develop within Life Insurance
- A passion for helping support return to health or return to work outcomes
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to assess information and make sound decisions
- Confidence managing sensitive conversations
- Strong organisation and time-management skills
- Empathy, resilience and emotional intelligence
- Ability to support people through challenging circumstances
- A relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent industry experience
