Are you an experienced aged care Registered Nurse looking to step into a leadership role where you can influence clinical outcomes, mentor teams, and drive best-practice infection prevention and control? Relocated to beautiful Bundaberg, QLD and get stuck in!
 
We're partnering with a respected aged care provider to recruit a Clinical Nurse for a well-established residential service in Bundaberg. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior RN or Clinical Nurse who enjoys balancing hands-on clinical care with quality, compliance, and staff development responsibilities.
 
Working closely with the Residential Manager and broader leadership team, you'll play a key role in maintaining a safe, high-quality environment for residents while supporting staff to deliver exceptional care.
 
About the Role
This is a full-time position working 76 hours per fortnight, primarily across morning shifts. The role combines infection prevention leadership with clinical oversight, making it ideal for a nurse who enjoys both strategic and operational responsibilities.
 
You'll lead infection control initiatives across the home while supporting the clinical team, contributing to quality improvement activities, and stepping into floor-based RN support when required.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) programs across the facility
  • Coordinate outbreak preparedness, response, and reporting
  • Deliver education, coaching, and mentoring to nursing and care teams
  • Conduct audits and monitor compliance with infection control standards
  • Support quality improvement and accreditation activities
  • Ensure adequate PPE and infection control resources are maintained
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to staff
  • Assist with resident assessments, documentation, and care planning
  • Support RN shift coverage when operationally required

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 4 years' experience within residential aged care in Australia
  • Previous experience as a Clinical Nurse, Clinical Lead, or senior RN highly regarded
  • Infection Prevention & Control qualification preferred (Willingness to undertake IPC training if not currently qualified)
  • Strong knowledge of aged care standards, compliance, and clinical governance
  • Experience mentoring and supporting multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach to leadership
