  6. Work with a range of materials including mild steel, high-strength steel, aluminium, armour and stainless steel.
  7. Apply knowledge of material behaviour, bend allowances and spring-back when forming different materials and thicknesses.
  8. Perform first-off and in-process dimensional inspections using verniers, protractors, angle gauges, go/no-go gauges and other precision measuring equipment.
  9. Make appropriate tooling, program and machine adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality.
  10. Identify and resolve forming, tooling, setup and dimensional issues during production.
  11. Ensure completed components conform to engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
  12. Maintain accurate production records and complete required manufacturing and job-traveller documentation.
  13. Monitor machine performance and report equipment issues to supervisors and maintenance personnel.
  14. Assist with continuous improvement of forming methods, tooling arrangements and manufacturing processes.
  15. Maintain machines, tooling and work areas in a clean, safe and organised condition.

Qualifications & Experience

  4. Strong ability to read and interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings.
  5. Experience forming complex components and profiles to tight tolerances.
  6. Sound understanding of sheet metal and plate forming, bend allowances and material spring-back.
  7. Experience selecting and setting brake press tooling and determining appropriate bending sequences.
  8. Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
  9. Strong practical problem-solving skills.
  10. Knowledge of Cybelec CNC controls would be an advantage.
