What You'll Do

  • Act as a reliable legal advisor for the Company’s Gaming business in ANZ. Provide legal assistance to other ANZ units, global teams, and the India business.
  • Offer practical, accurate, and timely legal advice on various commercial matters, including gaming-related supply, sales, maintenance, systems agreements, procurement, and real estate leases.
  • Prepare, examine, interpret, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts and legal documents, and support the resolution of commercial disputes.

  • Assess proposed transactions and support the development of transaction structures to manage legal and commercial risk effectively.
  • Interpret relevant laws and regulations, advising business collaborators on their application and associated requirements.
  • Build collaborative relationships with internal collaborators, working as a strategic partner to support their objectives.
  • Manage a varied workload, balancing competing priorities to provide timely, solution-focused legal services within budget requirements.
  • Coordinate external counsel, determining when external support is necessary and maintaining oversight of scope, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Undertake special projects requiring in-depth legal or commercial analysis.
  • Quickly understand the business, key collaborators, current matters, and established legal processes to ensure effective transition and continuity of legal services.
  • Learn and utilise various corporate and legal-specific software tools and systems relevant to business workflows and company policies.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified lawyer with an unrestricted Australian practising certificate.
  • 4+ years of post-qualification commercial legal experience in a law firm, in-house legal team, or both.
  • Experience advising on and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
  • Gaming industry or other regulated-industry experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to work independently, apply sound judgment, and become effective quickly within a fixed-term role.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, influence collaborators, and build effective working relationships at all organisational levels.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, progress multiple matters concurrently, identify and resolve business issues, and earn the confidence of senior collaborators.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, legal drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong commercial judgment, analytical capability, and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
  • Capability to operate efficiently in a lively and rapidly changing setting and respond swiftly to evolving priorities.
  • Demonstrated dedication to the highest standards of integrity and an understanding of the standards encouraged within a regulated business.
