Community Engagement Advisor

Drive engagement, communications and stakeholder outcomes across major community-focused projects

Your new Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Community Engagement Advisor to join a collaborative team delivering meaningful projects that impact local communities. In this role, you will lead the development and delivery of communication and engagement strategies that build trust, strengthen stakeholder relationships and support successful project outcomes. Working across a diverse portfolio of projects, you will manage community consultation activities, prepare engaging communications content and provide expert advice on stakeholder engagement best practice.
You will facilitate community information sessions, workshops and engagement activities, while leveraging digital channels, social media and innovative engagement techniques to reach a broad audience. The position will also see you developing web content, newsletters, presentations and campaign materials, ensuring communications are clear, engaging and audience-focused. Partnering closely with project teams and senior stakeholders, you will provide guidance on managing sensitive issues, community expectations and stakeholder concerns. You will also contribute to media responses, support event delivery and help drive continuous improvement across communications and engagement practices.
What you'll need to succeed

• Experience delivering stakeholder engagement and communications programs
• Strong background managing community consultation activities and events
• Excellent written communication and content development skills
• Experience creating digital content, social media campaigns and web content
• Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and sensitive issues
• Strong facilitation, presentation and engagement skills
• Proven project management capability with the ability to manage competing priorities
