About the opportunity

As Configuration Manager – Multi Class Sustainment, you'll play a pivotal role in delivery governance, operational performance and workforce management of Configuration Management services across ASC's significant defence programs. Supporting multiple business areas, you'll lead the delivery of Configuration Management products and services while ensuring compliance, quality and consistency across the organisation. This position can be based in Perth, WA or Adelaide, SA, with occasional travel required between locations.

Make a meaningful impact by strengthening Configuration Management capability, leading a skilled team and supporting the successful delivery of critical defence programs.

What you'll be doing

• Drive the development, maintenance and governance of configuration baselines across multiple ASC programs.
• Lead, coach and develop the Configuration Management team, driving capability, performance and engagement.
• Deliver high-quality Configuration Management products, services and reporting that support engineering and business outcomes.
• Support Engineering Leads to meet contractual, compliance and program requirements.
• Coordinate Configuration Change Boards and Engineering Review Boards while driving audits, continuous improvement and Configuration Management governance activities.

About you

You're an experienced Configuration Management professional and people leader who thrives in complex, highly regulated environments. With strong Defence Configuration Management expertise, you're equally comfortable leading teams, engaging stakeholders and ensuring robust governance across engineering baselines. Your practical and solutions-focused approach enables you to balance competing priorities while delivering quality outcomes and continuous improvement.

You’ll have:

• Well-proven experience in Configuration Management within complex technical or Defence environments.
• Proven experience leading, coaching and developing teams while managing operational priorities and workload delivery.
• Advanced knowledge of Configuration Management methodologies, principles and standards, including EIA-649.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence outcomes and work collaboratively across disciplines.
• Relevant technical, business or Configuration Management qualification (or equivalent experience)

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
