Role Overview
This is a full-time position responsible for preparing and managing cost estimates for residential construction projects, including budgeting, tender preparation, and cost analysis. Job Duties
- Prepares detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions for housing projects.
- Analyzes project drawings, specifications, and requirements to determine accurate costings.
- Sources and evaluates supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Works closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to align estimates with design and compliance standards.
- Monitors cost performance throughout the project lifecycle and provides variance analysis.
- Assists in contract negotiations and prepares supporting documentation for bids.
- Ensures estimates are competitive, accurate, and delivered within required timeframes.
- Implements risk management and cost-control processes to safeguard project profitability.
Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years’ proven experience in construction estimating or cost planning.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with estimating software, budgeting tools, and construction compliance systems.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for supplier and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of cost outcomes, and support project delivery.
