ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a Permanent role, 42 hours per week, Day Shift / Night Shift Continuous Roster. Our Worsley Refinery is a short drive from communities such as Collie (20 Minutes) & Bunbury (45 Minutes) which all offer an enviable country lifestyle. Surrounded by magnificent jarrah forests, pristine beaches and world-famous wineries, you will live and work in one of the most beautiful regions of Western Australia and still be home each night.
Candidates should ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie as there is no accommodation on site.
As a Control Room Specialist, you will be responsible for safely operating and controlling refinery processes to deliver production requirements in line with process standards and operating procedures. This role is not specific to any production area.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Monitor control parameters and identify emerging issues.
- Optimise production, minimise cost and ensure product quality on specification.
- Manage equipment shutdown and startup, direct operational priorities.
- Provide clear handovers and collaborate with production, maintenance and other teams to support coordinated operations.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Operating, monitoring or supporting complex industrial processing systems.
- Analysing process information and interpreting complex operational data.
- Identifying faults, investigating issues and developing practical solutions.
- Applying sound judgement and remaining focused in high-pressure situations.
- Communicating clearly and respectfully across operational and technical teams.
- Taking ownership, working collaboratively and proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications for this position are:
- Capability to achieve and maintain the CPK requirements for Control Room operations.
- Experience at Worsley Alumina Central Control Room is desired.
