POSITION

We have a full-time Cook position available in Smithfield, QLD 4878.

SKILLS

The role required you to have;

·Certificate III, IV or higher qualification in Commercial Cookery; AND

·At least 1 year of relevant work experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role of the Cook position is to prepare, season, cook and present a variety of authentic Indian dishes in accordance with established recipes, food quality standards and customer requirements. The Cook is responsible for ensuring the consistent preparation and presentation of meals, maintaining appropriate food storage and hygiene practices, and contributing to the efficient operation of the kitchen.

MAIN DUTIES

·Prepare and cook a wide range of Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori items, and other regional specialties, following recipes and ensuring consistent quality.

·Manage kitchen operations, including ordering supplied, maintaining a clear and organised workspace, and ensuring proper equipment maintenance.

·Assist with menu planning, development, and execution, including catering events and parties.

·Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment.

·Collaborate with other cooks, chefs, and kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service.

·Supervise and train kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety procedures.

·Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation, enduring they meet restaurant standards.

·Implement programs to reduce food waste and ensure proper food storage.

·Comply with work practices, wear protective clothing when necessary, and follow safe manual handling techniques.

SALARY

The position will attract a salary between $70,000 and $80,000 per annum.
