Cost Controller (Entry Level)
- Process and validate contractor and maintenance invoices, receipts, service entries and payments using SAP.
- Support cost-control administration, procurement, contractor onboarding, reporting, accruals and month-end tasks.
- Provide administrative and compliance support to the maintenance team and follow up approvals and contractor queries.

Your first step into cost control
Ready to turn your finance degree into a real career? A major Australian fuels and energy business is looking for a Cost Controller to join its maintenance cost control team. You’ll work on site, learn how a large operation manages its costs, and build your skills in SAP with people who will show you how.
On-the-job training is provided, so you don’t need to know everything on day one. If you have a finance qualification, around a year of experience and a keen eye for detail, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll do
- Process and check contractor and maintenance invoices, including receipting, validation, service entry and payment in SAP
- Look after the cost control shared inbox, answer contractor questions and chase up approvals
- Support procurement and contractor onboarding, including purchase requisitions, vendor requests and SAP number creation
- Help prepare monthly reporting, including contractor headcount, accruals and end-of-month tasks
- Support the Maintenance team with timesheets, process documentation, compliance checks and follow-up of outstanding approvals
What you’ll bring
- A finance qualification, or a finance, accounting or related degree
- Around one year of experience in cost control or a similar role
- Basic working knowledge of SAP and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and good follow-through
- A friendly, professional way with contractors and colleagues
- Ability to work on site five days a week
