The Opportunity
Partnered with our host Statewide Bearings, we are looking for a Customer Service Trainee who is keen to learn and work in a mechanical engineering environment while completing a BSB30120 Certificate III in Business and BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership & Management, all fully supported and paid for by your host employer.
This position is full-time and based in Smithfield, NSW

Statewide Bearings is one of Australia’s most trusted bearing suppliers, offering an extensive range of bearing lubrication, power transmission, pumps, and linear motion products. It has multiple branches in each state and offers varied opportunities for progression in all areas of business.
This 24-month traineeship is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and professional training with a well-established national company. You will receive mentorship, practical workplace training and theoretical coursework, providing you with a strong foundation in customer service, administration and the industrial products industry.
Successful completion of the traineeship may lead to direct employment with Statewide Bearings, providing an opportunity to build a long-term career within the industry.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Answer phone, email and walk-in customer enquiries
- Greet and assist customers with their needs
- Provide product information and identify suitable solutions
- Obtain quotes and process customer orders
- Liaise with suppliers, specialists and workshop staff
- Learn and use company computer and ordering systems
- Assist with warehouse and stock duties as required
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Hours: Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 4:30pm

- Begin with the BSB30120 Certificate III in Business in the first year. If desired, you can then continue with the BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership & Management
About You
We are looking for a motivated and well-presented individual with strong communication skills and an interest in building a career in sales and customer service within the mechanical industry.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have good mechanical aptitude and an interest in learning about Statewide Bearings products and services
- Communicate confidently and professionally with customers and colleagues
- Have basic computer skills and a willingness to develop technical skills
- Be reliable, punctual, organised and have good time-management skills
- Work well both independently and as part of a team
- Have a positive, energetic and enthusiastic attitude with a strong willingness to learn
- Demonstrate attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks
- Be capable of performing manual handling and warehouse duties safely
- Understand and follow workplace health and safety requirements
- Previous experience in a mechanical workshop, warehouse or similar environment is highly desirable

- Valid Driver's Licence
- Ability to pass a Medical, Drug and Alcohol Screen, and Police Check
