The Opportunity

• We’re partnering with a leading large-scale consumer organisation on a high-priority data remediation initiative supporting several major technology and transformation programs.
• We’re looking for an experienced Master Data Lead to assess the current data landscape, identify and diagnose data-quality issues, and establish a clear remediation roadmap and longer-term governance approach.
• This is a hands-on consulting role, combining strong technical data investigation with Master Data expertise and senior stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead an end-to-end diagnostic of Master Data quality across multiple interconnected systems.
• Profile large datasets to identify outdated, duplicated, incomplete and incorrectly configured records.
• Perform data mapping, cleansing, validation, issue categorisation and root-cause analysis.
• Assess and rationalise complex legacy Master Data.
• Investigate parent-child and hierarchical data structures and identify inconsistencies impacting downstream processes.
• Trace data flows across source systems, operational platforms, integrations and reporting environments.
• Use SQL to interrogate data across multiple relational tables and identify underlying issues.
• Identify the root cause and downstream business impact of data-quality problems.
• Assess cross-system identifiers and contribute to a more consistent target-state data structure.
• Help establish a longer-term Master Data governance framework and operating model.

Skillset

• Strong experience across Master Data Management, Data Remediation, Data Quality and Data Governance.
• Experience within retail, FMCG, supply chain, consumer or another high-volume operational environment
• Strong SQL capability and confidence working hands-on with complex relational datasets.
• Experience with data profiling, mapping, cleansing, validation and root-cause analysis.
• Experience rationalising large or complex legacy datasets.
• Strong understanding of parent-child / hierarchical Master Data structures.
• Experience investigating data issues across multiple interconnected platforms.
• Ability to translate technical findings into clear business and operational impacts.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across both technical and non-technical teams.
• Ability to independently lead a diagnostic/remediation workstream from problem identification through to recommendations and execution planning.
