Haysare working with a leading energy organisation in Western Australia,responsible for operating and evolving a highly complex power system. Withincreasing renewable integration and major infrastructure projects underway,they are playing a key role in shaping how the network adapts to future energydemands.
Your new role
This is a seniortechnical position where you will lead complex power system studies andinfluence critical network and connection decisions. Acting as a subject matterexpert, you will work across planning, operations and external stakeholders tosolve technically challenging problems and shape the future capability of thetransmission network.
You will play a keyrole in assessing system performance, enabling new generation connections, andcontributing to long-term transmission planning strategies.
Key responsibilities
- Lead advanced powersystem studies across steady-state, dynamic (RMS) and EMT domains
- Assess systemstrength, stability and network capability for new and existing connections
- Develop and maintainnetwork models using tools such as PowerFactory and PSCAD
- Provide technicaladvice on large-scale generator and customer connections
- Investigate systemperformance and incidents, optimising control system behaviour
- Contribute to networkplanning, development strategies and business case inputs
- Collaborate withinternal teams and external stakeholders to resolve complex technicalchallenges
- Support technicallyrobust and commercially balanced connection outcomes
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree in ElectricalEngineering or similar
- Strong experience inpower systems, ideally within transmission, utilities or renewables
- Capability in powersystem studies (load flow, dynamic, and/or EMT modelling)
- Proficiency inPowerFactory, with exposure to PSCAD or similar tools
- Experience acrossgenerator connection studies or network performance assessments
- Good understanding ofsystem stability and network behaviour
- Ability to analysecomplex data and contribute to engineering decision-making
- Strong communicationand stakeholder engagement skills
