Civil Engineering Technician — Bexley, NSW

Kogan People Solutions are working with a highly regarded civil engineering and surfacing contractor delivering reliable, safety-focused paving solutions for local government, utility, and private sector construction projects across NSW. They wish to appoint a skilled experienced Civil Engineering Technician to the team.

Role Overview

Working with internal project management teams, external civil, structural, and pavement engineers, you will provide practical civil engineering technical support across civil, road, and infrastructure projects from pre-construction site investigation through to asphalt paving, quality control, and completion. The job is full time and ongoing.

Location: Bexley, NSW

Salary: $80,000–$90,000 plus superannuation per annum

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with site inspections, investigations and testing for civil and pavement works.
• Review engineering drawings, pavement designs and geotechnical information and help translate these into practical site documentation.
• Prepare and update drawings using AutoCAD/Civil 3D, including levels, cross-sections, drainage and pavement details.
• Complete quantity calculations and take-offs for asphalt, earthworks and other civil works.
• Work with engineers, project managers and site supervisors to resolve technical issues and keep drawings and documentation current.
• Site set-out, level checks, compaction testing and other construction quality checks.
• Inspect completed and in-progress works against the relevant drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Prepare documentation required for Council, TfNSW, Sydney Water and other project approvals where applicable.
• Maintain project drawings, test results, ITPs and related quality records.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or higher qualification in civil engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 1 year of relevant post-qualification experience in civil construction, roadworks or pavement projects.
• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, geotechnical information and pavement specifications.
• Practical experience with CAD documentation, quantity take-offs, site set-out or construction materials testing.
• Good understanding of civil construction practices and relevant Australian requirements.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineers, project staff and field crews.
• Current Construction Induction White Card and valid driver licence.
• Experience in NSW civil infrastructure, asphalt or pavement works will be well regarded.
