Join our expanding Data Engineering team where you’ll help build modern data platforms that power insights, decision-making, and digital experiences across the organisation. As a GCP Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and optimise scalable data solutions on Google Cloud Platform, working with large and complex datasets in a cloud-native environment. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working with modern technologies, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and robust data solutions using Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, and Composer.
- Build and maintain reliable batch and real-time data pipelines using modern engineering practices and cloud-native technologies.
- Apply DevOps principles, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and automated testing to improve delivery efficiency and quality.
- Ensure data quality through validation, monitoring, governance controls, and adherence to engineering standards.
- Optimise data pipelines and storage solutions for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and support solutions during build, driving continuous improvements and operational excellence.
- Implement security controls, access management processes, and compliance requirements across data platforms.
What you will bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer
- Proficiency in Java or Python and experience building scalable, production-grade data pipelines and applications
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and automated testing frameworks
