Hays Engineering is partnering with an established engineering consultancy delivering critical power infrastructure projects across Western Australia and seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join its growing team.

This opportunity is suited to engineers with experience in transmission or distribution line design who are looking to further develop their expertise while working on critical power infrastructure projects across Western Australia.

Your new role
Joining an establishedteam of engineers, designers and drafting professionals, you will contribute tothe design and modelling of overhead line projects across the utilities,infrastructure and resources sectors. The role provides exposure to projects rangingfrom distribution networks through to transmission infrastructure operating atvoltages up to 220kV.

Key responsibilities include:

• Transmission andoverhead line modelling using PLS-CADD.
• Developing andmaintaining line design parameters.
• Pole modelling andstructural capacity assessments.
• Pole spotting and spanoptimisation activities.
• Preparing Basis ofDesign documentation.
• Producing plans,profiles and stringing charts.
• Assessing electricalclearances and design compliance requirements.
• Identifying potentialenvironmental, heritage and third-party crossing constraints.

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's degree inElectrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience designingoverhead powerline infrastructure within transmission and/or distributionnetworks.
• Exposure to utility,renewable energy, mining or infrastructure projects.
• Experience usingPLS-CADD would be advantageous; however, candidates with strong overhead linedesign experience are encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge of linedesign standards, clearances and utility requirements.
• Ability to workcollaboratively within a project delivery environment.
• Strong attention todetail and a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering outcomes.
