Safety Advisor / Leading Hand

We are seeking a dual-focused Safety Advisor / Leading Hand to join our client's growing multi-residential construction team in Brisbane. This role will be based in Chermside. You will split your time between driving workplace health and safety (WHS) initiatives on site and hands-on trade/leading hand duties.

Health & Safety Duties:

• Conduct daily pre-starts, Tool Box Talks, and site safety inductions.
• Review and approve Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Job Safety Analyses (JSA) prior to works.
• Conduct regular site hazard inspections and enforce strict PPE and compliance rules.
• Manage site safety documentation and report any incidents or hazards to the Site Manager.

   
Leading Hand Duties:

• Supervise a small team of workers and subcontractors on a daily basis.
• Coordinate daily work targets and ensure tasks are completed on schedule and to high-quality standards.
• Perform physical, hands-on construction duties as required.
• Act as the communication bridge between site management and the crew

   
About You
 

• Valid White Card (General Construction Induction).
• Relevant trade qualification or extensive on-site experience in multi-residential building.
• Cert IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or equivalent safety qualifications (preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate).
• Proven experience in a Leading Hand or supervisory role.
• Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and practical hazard control.
• Excellent communication skills to positively influence safety culture on site.
