Spinal Life Australia is a purpose-driven not-for-profit organisation supporting people living with spinal cord injury to live independently and with dignity in their own homes. We are seeking a passionate Registered Nurse to join our Community Nursing team to travel and support clients within Southeast Queensland (Brisbane & surrounds). Full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

About the role As a Community Nurse, you will deliver holistic, in-home nursing care to individuals living with spinal cord injury. You will work as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team to support client wellbeing, independence, and quality of life.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Bladder, bowel, continence, and respiratory management
  • Complex wound care and pressure injury management
  • Catheter changes and clinical assessments
  • Tracheostomy care and respiratory support (training provided if required)
  • Client education and empowerment to promote independence
  • Clinical guidance and training for Personal Support Workers
  • Liaising with allied health professionals and external providers
  • Client visits – within southeast Queensland (Brisbane & surrounds)

What we are looking for

  • Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum two years post-graduate nursing experience (community nursing preferred)
  • Current Queensland Driver’s Licence
  • Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • A caring, empathetic, and person-centred approach

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience working with people with spinal cord injury
  • Experience or interest in tracheostomy and ventilation care
