Our client is a global hedge fund style trading firm, managing a discrete large portfolio of high-frequency traded assets from a regional trading hub in Sydney. This is an exceptional, newly created Trader Support Middle Office Associate position has become available in direct support of an Algo Trading team focused on Equity Options trading, across APAC.

This position would suit an experienced operations, trade support or middle office professional who has previous experience with a global investment bank, fund manager or trading firm and seeking to support a high-performing team of traders.   

The ideal applicant would have at least 2 to 5 years’ experience within Equity Derivatives in a direct trade support, operations or trading desk middle office position.  A good understanding of corporate actions would be highly regarded as would strong Excel, VBA and ideally some Python knowledge.

Responsibilities:

• Act as liaison between desk traders and other dealers, brokers
• Execute orders per the request of traders, operations and external Prime Brokers to ensure trading system parity
• Compile/reconcile data from electronic trades
• Examine electronic transactions generated from clearing firm
• Resolve erroneous and broken trades
• Assist with maintaining position, P&L and information exchange
• Update and manage all post computer screens including exchange trading systems, proprietary trading applications, and excel spreadsheets

Ideal Background:

• 2-5+ years previous experience in EQD, ETD, F&O or Commodity Trading Support and university degree educated
• Thorough knowledge of Equity Options corporate actions, equity derivatives 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel
• Ideally Python, VBA, SQL and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written); ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization

This is an exceptional Middle Office Associate position, working as a Traders Assistant in support of this Algo Trading team. This is a 5d per week in-office position, working from beautiful CBD-based offices.
