The Department of Logistics and Infrastructure is seeking a motivated technical professional to support the road network operational capability and safety, by removing obstructions, planning for public events and monitoring compliance of those working in the road reserve.
This role sits within the Road Network Operations unit and offers the opportunity to work on essential infrastructure that supports safe, efficient and reliable transport for communities across urban, regional and remote locations.

About the Role
Working as part of a small, highly skilled and dynamic team, you will be involved in the delivery and support of traffic signal and ITS assets, including:
- Lead and coordinate the Road Operations team to ensure the safe and efficient management of NT Government road assets, including planned works, permit approvals, temporary traffic management activities and incident response.
- Manage team performance, workloads, rostering, training and development, while fostering a positive and high-performing operational environment.
- Provide expert advice on road network operations, traffic management and legislative requirements, and contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures and operational standards.
- Support emergency management activities, including incident response coordination, after-hours on-call arrangements and fatigue management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry groups, local government and other stakeholders to support safe and effective road network operations across the Territory.
- Drive continuous improvement by reviewing, documenting and enhancing business processes and operational practices within the Road Operations team.
All roles in the Road Network Operations unit contribute to a 24hour roster emergency response capability for the Territory road network through an oncall roster.
About You
You are someone who enjoys working in a technical, operational environment and takes pride in delivering infrastructure that has a real impact on communities.
You will bring:
- A relevant diploma qualification and/or significant experience in road operations, traffic management, civil infrastructure or a related technical field.
- Strong knowledge of road asset and traffic management practices, including relevant legislation, standards and operational requirements.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and resources in an operational service delivery environment, with responsibility for planning, rostering, performance and reporting.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across government, industry and community settings.
- Experience preparing professional documentation and providing clear advice to support operational and business outcomes.
- Participate in an after-hours emergency response roster and hold a current driver's licence.
