We’re seeking an experienced General Manager with a strong background in Sydney’s leading pub and hospitality groups to take the reins of a Newcastle venue.

This opportunity suits a polished, commercially sharp operator who understands contemporary pub culture. You know what makes a dining room buzz, a bar deliver and a team take pride in every service.

The role is based in Newcastle and offers $160,000 + Super. Sydney candidates ready to relocate are encouraged to apply.

The Opportunity Take ownership of the venue’s day-to-day operations, guest experience, team performance and commercial results. With food and beverage at the heart of the business, you’ll bring the standards, energy and attention to detail developed within quality Sydney venues.

You’ll be visible on the floor, confident leading your managers and equally comfortable reviewing the numbers behind a successful service.
Your Responsibilities

• Lead all venue operations, with a strong focus on food, beverage and service.
• Recruit, coach and develop a capable, engaged management and frontline team.
• Drive revenue while managing labour, cost of goods, budgets and profitability.
• Work closely with the kitchen and bar teams to deliver a consistent guest experience.
• Keep the offering relevant through an understanding of dining trends, drinks culture and customer expectations.
• Build relationships with guests, suppliers and the local community.
• Maintain high standards across presentation, compliance and operational execution.

About You You’re an established pub General Manager with experience in Sydney’s leading food and beverage focused hospitality groups.
You bring:

• A proven record of leading quality pubs with a strong dining and bar offering.
• Confident, articulate communication and a polished, approachable presence.
• Strong financial acumen and the ability to turn commercial targets into clear team priorities.
• A contemporary understanding of hospitality, from service standards to food and beverage trends.
• Hands-on leadership, sound judgement and the ability to keep a busy venue running smoothly.
• A genuine interest in relocating to Newcastle and becoming part of its hospitality community.
