About DSTG Edinburgh
DSTG’s Edinburgh facility plays a vital role in delivering cutting-edge science and technology solutions for the Australian Defence Force (ADF). As part of multidisciplinary teams, biological scientists contribute to vital areas such as:
- Genomics services and advanced bioinformatics analysis.
- Biological sampling, culturing, and analysis for defence applications.
- Cell and molecular biology (design, synthesis, production, and evaluation).
- Development of vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostic tools.
- Sample preparation, deployment, and monitoring in controlled environments.Instrumentation maintenance and calibration to ensure safety and accuracy.
- Design and development of equipment, assays, and software for biological detection and identification.
These projects address critical defence challenges, aligning with Australian and International Standards and industry best practices.
Who We’re Looking For
We are building a talent pool of professionals with:
- Tertiary qualifications in biology, biotechnology, molecular biology, or related fields.
- Experience in technical and/or management roles in biological science services.
- Skills in areas such as bioinformatics, biological sampling, genomics, or vaccine development.
- Familiarity with safety standards, regulations, and Defence requirements.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and attention to detail.
