We are seeking a proactive and reliable groundskeeper in Alice Springs.

Are you someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating machinery, and taking pride in maintaining high-quality facilities? We are seeking a proactive and reliable groundskeeper to support the upkeep and presentation of grounds, infrastructure, and facilities for our client based in Alice Springs.

Your new role
In this hands-on role, you will assist with the maintenance of both airside and landside facilities, ensuring they remain safe, compliant, and well-presented at all times.
Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the grounds through mowing, whipper snipping, vegetation control, and general landscaping.
• Carry out minor maintenance including painting, repairs, signage maintenance, drainage upkeep, and general facility repairs.
• Operate a range of equipment including ride-on mowers, tractors, slashers, bobcats, backhoes, painting equipment, and power tools.
• Inspect and maintain furniture and infrastructure, ensuring repairs are completed or reported promptly.
• Respond to emergency situations, including spill response and after-hours call-outs.
• Participate in an on-call maintenance roster when required.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with workplace health and safety standards.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Experience operating landscaping, grounds maintenance, and minor civil works machinery.
• Experience maintaining infrastructure such as roads, pavements, drains, and signage.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and a proactive attitude.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer literacy.
• A commitment to workplace safety and compliance.

Essential Requirements

• Current NT Driving Licence (or ability to obtain).
• Current HR Licence (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to obtain a valid First Aid Certificate.
• Ability to participate in a fortnightly on-call roster.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
• Ability to pass an Australian Federal Police Check.
• Be willing to sit a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.
• Must be based in Alice Springs.
