Transport Refrigeration Mechanic

General Duties
▪ Conduct daily and pre-trip inspections of transport refrigeration equipment.
▪ Service, maintain and repair Thermo King and Carrier trailer refrigeration units.
▪ Complete engine servicing 
▪ Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and refrigeration faults.
▪ Inspect, test and repair 12-volt electrical systems and associated components.
▪ Identify defects, determine repair requirements and escalate matters affecting equipment 
availability or safe operation.
▪ Maintain tools, equipment and the work area in a safe, clean and serviceable condition.
▪ Work safely and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship

Skills & Experience
▪ Trade qualification in light vehicle, heavy vehicle, diesel mechanical or a related mechanical 
field.
▪ Current driver licence.
▪ Experience servicing and repairing transport refrigeration units, including Thermo King and/or 
Carrier equipment, is highly regarded.
▪ Diesel engine servicing and repair experience is advantageous.
▪ Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical and refrigeration faults.
▪ Experience with 12-volt electrical systems is advantageous.
▪ Experience within transport, fleet maintenance or logistics is highly regarded.
▪ Ability to interpret instructions, follow maintenance procedures and complete accurate repair 
documentation.
▪ Strong attention to detail, time management and problem-solving skills.
▪ Reliable and punctual, with effective communication skills and the ability to work both 
independently and as part of a team.
▪ Physically capable of safely completing the manual tasks associated with the role.
