Dugald River mine is one of the world’s top 10 Zinc mine operations, which has been producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017. 

The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine’s power, and reducing emissions by 33% and this is just the start of its renewable energy transition. 

Dugald River employs around 750 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis.

Coordinator - Mine Projects

This role is to provide a single point of coordination for underground project planning and execution within Projects, working with Mining Operations, Technical Services and Maintenance to integrate schedules, resources, access and other constraints to reduce unplanned interactions, delays and rework.

This role will be based on an 8/6:4/3 roster, drive in drive out (DIDO) from Cloncurry or Mount Isa or fly in fly out (FIFO) from Townsville or Brisbane preferred.

Qualifications, Competencies & knowledge:

  • Significant experience (typically 5+ years) in underground mining supervision, project coordination, planning or project controls roles.
  • High-level prioritisation and stakeholder management across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong planning, organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Formal project management training (e.g., (PMBOK)Project Management Body of Knowledge) desirable.
  • Genuine commitment to creating a safe work environment and leading by example.

Key responsibilities will include:

Develop and maintain an integrated underground project master schedule (weekly, fortnightly and look-ahead horizons) in collaboration with Mining, Technical Services and Maintenance leads.

Coordinate underground access, equipment and personnel requirements for project activities to minimise conflict with production and maintenance priorities.

Chair regular underground project coordination meetings (e.g., fortnightly resource planning) and maintain clear actions, constraints and escalation pathways.

Track project readiness (materials, contractors, permits, isolations, risk assessments, plans) and support timely mobilisation and execution.

Support cost control and reporting for the underground projects portfolio, including forecasting, variance tracking and inputs to governance reporting.
