We're seeking a reliable and hardworking Construction Trades Assistant to join a busy Mackay workshop. Working in a sheltered environment, you'll play a key role in the refurbishment, maintenance and preparation of transportable buildings.This position is ideal for someone with a construction, carpentry, trade assistant or building maintenance background who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in delivering quality results.Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting tradespeople with repairs, maintenance and refurbishments
- Re-sheeting walls, repairing door frames and completing general building works
- Operating hand and power tools
- Cleaning, pressure washing and preparing buildings for delivery
- General workshop and yard duties
- Forklift operation (if licensed)
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work environment
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience in construction, trades assisting, carpentry or building maintenanceStrong experience using hand and power toolsCurrent Driver's Licence and reliable transportPositive attitude and willingness to learnStrong work ethic and reliabilityAbility to work effectively within a team environmentContactable work referencesMust be living locally in Mackay
