Your new role
As a Scam Monitoring Officer, you will monitor, identify and investigate potentially fraudulent or scam-related activity. You will use your analytical skills and attention to detail to recognise suspicious patterns, take the appropriate preventative action and ensure all incidents are accurately recorded.

• Monitoring scam calls, SMS campaigns and suspicious usage activity
• Identifying and blocking scam messaging campaigns
• Adding phishing URLs and phone numbers to relevant blacklists
• Investigating call patterns to determine whether activity is fraudulent
• Monitoring high-volume scam call activity and excessive usage alerts
• Taking appropriate action to prevent potential customer usage fraud
• Maintaining accurate records of scam campaigns and actions taken
• Preparing and distributing daily scam activity reports
• Responding to notifications and reports received from other service providers
• Supporting compliance with relevant legislation, policies and industry codes
• Identifying opportunities to improve existing monitoring and prevention processes
• The shift pattern for this position is 5pm to 10pm, with evening and weekend availability required.

What you'll need to succeed

• Strong analytical and investigative skills
• High attention to detail and the ability to identify unusual patterns
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to work independently and make considered decisions
• A collaborative and consultative working style
• The ability to remain resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
• A commercial and pragmatic approach to problem-solving
• The ability to quickly understand relevant legislation, regulations and policies
• Previous experience within fraud, scams, risk, compliance, telecommunications or a monitoring environment will be highly regarded

• Applicable overtime rates of up to $55.22 per hour plus super
