Network Engineer - Level 2
- Provide Level 2 support for National Emergency Warning System and Cell Broadcast Centre platforms, resolving infrastructure and telecommunications issues.

We are seeking an experienced Network & Systems Engineer to join a leading telecommunications environment, supporting National Emergency Warning System (NEWS) and Cell Broadcast Centre (CBC) platforms.
This role involves providing Level 2 technical support, troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues and ensuring the reliability and performance of critical telecommunications systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2 support across NEWS/CBC platforms.
- Troubleshoot Linux, networking, server and infrastructure issues.
- Manage incidents, escalations and fault resolution within SLAs.
- Support Cisco switches, Check Point firewalls and F5 load balancers.
- Perform system upgrades, maintenance and performance optimisation.
- Develop automation scripts and improve operational processes.
- Collaborate with customers, vendors and engineering teams.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call support roster.
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years' experience in Network Engineering, Systems Administration or Infrastructure Support.
- Strong experience with Red Hat Linux (RHEL).
- Hands-on knowledge of Cisco, Check Point firewalls and F5.
- Experience with physical/virtual servers, ideally HPE.
- Knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch.
- Scripting experience with Bash, Python or Perl.
- Strong IP networking, troubleshooting and incident management skills.
- Telecommunications or managed services experience highly regarded.
- Ability to complete a Police Clearance Check.
