An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior WHS Advisor to lead workplace safety and regulatory compliance across critical power, water and wastewater infrastructure supporting remote communities. This role offers the chance to contribute to essential services while helping build a strong and proactive safety culture across a diverse operational environment.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Director of Safety, you will provide expert WHS and compliance support to essential services operations while ensuring adherence to industry standards, legislative requirements and asset owner obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading safety and compliance activities across electricity, water and wastewater operations.
- Ensuring compliance with electrical, water and workplace safety legislation, standards and codes of practice.
- Managing audits, inspections, assurance programmes and compliance reporting.
- Investigating incidents and conducting root cause analyses.
- Supporting contractors and operational teams with risk management and safe systems of work.
- Maintaining safety management systems, policies and procedures.
- Building strong relationships with regulators, asset owners and key stakeholders.
- Driving a positive and proactive safety culture through coaching, mentoring and leadership.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in a WHS, HSE or Safety Advisor position.
- Strong understanding of risk management, incident investigation and safety systems.
- Experience interpreting and applying relevant legislation and compliance requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Exposure to utilities, infrastructure, essential services, energy, water or remote operations environments will be highly regarded.
- Experience working with contractors, permit-to-work systems and high-risk activities is advantageous.
- Full Australian working rights.
- Currently residing in Western Australia.
