    Role Description

    This is a contract, on-site Occupational Therapist role based in Springwood, QLD. The Occupational Therapist will assess clients’ functional abilities, strengths, and challenges, and develop individualized intervention plans to improve participation in daily activities at home, school, work, and in the community. Day-to-day tasks include conducting standardized and informal assessments, delivering therapy sessions, documenting progress, collaborating with counsellors and other professionals, and contributing to multidisciplinary case discussions. The role involves educating clients, families, and carers on strategies, equipment, and environmental modifications to support independence and well-being. The Occupational Therapist will maintain accurate clinical records, uphold professional and ethical standards, and participate in service development as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Strong foundation in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation, with the ability to design and implement client-centered intervention plans.
    • Knowledge of Medicine and basic clinical concepts relevant to holistic care and safe practice in a counselling and therapeutic setting.
    • Effective Communication skills to interact with clients, families, carers, and multidisciplinary team members with clarity and empathy.
    • Experience or interest in Pediatrics, including assessment and intervention with children and adolescents in home, school, or clinic environments.
    • Recognized qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., AHPRA or equivalent).
    • Ability to work independently on-site in Springwood, QLD, while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team environment.
    • Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice, cultural sensitivity, and maintaining client confidentiality.
    • Previous experience in community, mental health, or counselling-related settings is highly beneficial.
