Experienced Carpenter Position – Bowden Corp (Warrnambool)

Westvic Staffing Solutions, in partnership with Bowden Corp, Warrnambool, is recruiting an experienced Carpenter to join their team.

This is a great opportunity to join a reputable construction business and contribute to the successful delivery of commercial construction projects across South West Victoria. Working alongside Site Managers and the broader project team, the role will involve a range of carpentry and general construction activities, with a strong focus on quality workmanship, teamwork and safety.

General Tasks Include:

• Undertaking carpentry works including set-out, framing, cladding and fix-out
• Reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications and shop drawings
• Completing material take-offs and planning carpentry related tasks
• Supporting Site Managers with works as directed across construction projects
• Moving and handling materials around construction sites as required
• Assisting with maintaining quality standards and identifying or reporting non-conforming works
• Maintaining clean, organised and safe work areas

The successful applicant will:

• Be an experienced and qualified carpenter
• Demonstrate a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail
• Work effectively within a team and alongside Site Managers and other trades
• Be physically fit and comfortable undertaking manual and physically demanding work
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Be punctual, reliable and have their own transport
• Be comfortable working within a fast-paced construction environment
• Be safety-focused and able to follow workplace policies, procedures and instructions
• Communicate professionally with the client’s customers, subcontractors and other project stakeholders

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Certificate III in Carpentry
• Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card)
• Working with Children Check
• Certificate III in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent is desirable
• Comprehensive carpentry tool kit, including relevant hand and power tools
• Full PPE
• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment general medical assessment
